How the retrofit works

1. Your existing panel. Single or dual pump controller, pump starter, or a standalone high level alarm — whatever is already on the wall. Most have a volt-free common alarm output intended for BMS or SCADA connection. That is the connection point.

2. The logger. A DataCell logger wires into those terminals and monitors up to four signals per installation. It runs from 230V mains or a low voltage DC supply, and its internal battery backup keeps it reporting through a mains failure — so a power outage sends you an alert instead of going quiet.

3. The network. 4G cellular. No site network, no fixed IP address, no SCADA licence, and nothing for an IT department to approve.

4. The alert. SMS, email, or both, to as many recipients as you need. Every event is timestamped and retained, so you have the history as well as the alarm.

Escalation is configurable — a fault can go to the operator first, then to a supervisor if it is not acknowledged.

What can be monitored

Up to four signals per installation, chosen from:

  • High level float or level transducer — wet well and vessel levels

  • Mains power supply present or failed — still reported during an outage, on battery backup
  • Pump run hours and start counts
  • Any general volt-free alarm contact
  • Analogue inputs where a transducer is fitted

“We already have alarms.”

Will it work with my brand of pump controller?
Almost certainly. If the panel has a volt-free common alarm output, a float, or a level transducer, we can read it. That covers effectively every controller sold in Australia.

Do I need to replace my panel?
No. That is the point of the retrofit.

Does the site need internet?
No. The logger uses its own 4G connection.

What power does it need?
230V mains or a low voltage DC supply. Internal battery backup keeps it running through an outage, so a mains failure is reported rather than simply going quiet.

How many signals can one logger monitor?
Up to four per installation. Most sites use high level, pump fault, overload and mains power.

Who installs it?
Any licensed electrician, or we can arrange installation.

What about nuisance trips?
Delays and acknowledgement rules mean a brief float bounce doesn't wake anyone. Everything is still logged even when alerts are muted.
